Yoga 13 Overheating

2014-03-09, 23:17 PM

I recently noticed that while gaming, my Yoga 13 laptop reached CPU and GPU temperatures of 85 C, which seems extremely dangerous. I also noticed that previously, the game I was playing (Mirror's edge) would only run smoothly at very low resolutions. However, after some time away from gaming, now for some reason I can play Mirror's edge at full resolution smoothly, but now it overheats after about 10 minutes. Could this be a problem with the Thermal Dynamic Framework driver?

please make sure that all application are disabled and nothing are opened and working behind

Wait so there are no safeguards against overheating? No throttling of the CPU, or shutting down the process? Because 85 C seems awfully hot, I'm afraid my computer will start damaging itself without me knowing...
