Yoga 13 Windows 8.1 Upgrade Unknown Devices

2013-10-25, 15:44 PM

I have just updated my Yoga 13 from Windows 8 to 8.1.  I notice there are now 2 errors listed in the Device Manager under Other Devices:

1. PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller

2. Unknown Device

I have tried updating the drivers but they could not be found.

Having had a quick trawl on the internet this is clearly a common problem.

Does anyone know how fix this problem?  Thanks.

I was able to resolve this by installing the latest Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework for Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit), Windows 8.1 (64-bit) - IdeaPad Yoga 13  driver from the Support/Drivers & Downloads section.

This helped me too

I'm curious -- now that you've installed DPTF, do you find your machine is sluggish when in non-laptop modes?

btitus, no I haven't, but I have the ymc service disabled (as per another thread on this forum). Control Panel==>Administrative Tools==>Local Services displays and let's you change the settings from Automatic to Manual. (I don't use tablet mode much.)

DPTF throttles your computer when in any mode other than the standard laptop setting.  It can be disabled in your bios.  I am running an original bios version, I did not update the bios after reading some of the issues associated with it.

Re: Yoga 13 Windows 8.1 Upgrade Unknown Devices

My question is similar.

I have a ThinkCentre M92p (2992-E4U).  I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1.  Since then, I have an error message in the Lenovo Solution Center under the Check Up tab that says "Unknown Device, not installed"  I go to Device Manager and I find nothing missing, out of date or even listed as unknown.  All I have attached to my computer is an ASUS monitor, an HP printer and a webcam (I've never used) and all appear to have the latest drivers.  I did have to update the printer drivers after loading 8.1.

How do I find this unknown device that isn't installed.

I looked for this DPTF under Support Drivers for 8.1 but didn't see anything.  Very good probability I just didn't know exactly what I was looking for.  Can someone point me to exactly what I should be looking for to load to see if I can fix my problem?
