Yoga 13 heat issue

2013-04-08, 16:42 PM

Hi I just got the Yoga 13 (i5 prossesor 8 gb RAM) and notice it gets really hot toward the bottom of the laptop by the fan. Almost to the point where it is to hot to hold. Is there a fix for this? It seems like the fan is always running...

Mine does not get that hot. Are your fans running?

Re: Yoga 13 heat issue

I just bought the Yoga 13 a week ago, and last night for the first time I noticed it getting very hot as well, too hot to touch.

I started out using it in laptop mode for an hour and it got progressively hotter, and when I switched to tablet mode it remained hot and I had to turn it 180/upside down to be able to continue using it since it was too hot touch on the fan/hinge side for the next 2 hours or so.  I didn't pay attention to the fan last night, since it is so quiet.  But this morning the Yoga was cooled down and the fan is running now.  Using it in laptop mode now it is barely warm to the touch.

From what I've briefly browsed around the web, I'm not seeing complaints about the Yoga having this heat issue, so is it something with this particular unit, or something I might be doing?

Thanks for your help!
