Re: Shipping date/notification?

2012-12-17, 1:28 AM

I've had no issues so far with it.  I applied the hotfix for the hd partitioning.  The touch screen has worked flawlessly so far.  The touchpad is ok, but I miss the 3 finger swipe like on my y580.  I'm getting use to the keyboard and it feels solid.  I had to disable services to install pro pack, and media center.  So far I like it better than any other laptop I've used.  The soft touch palm rest is really nice.  The fan runs a lot but it's way quieter than my Aspire S7 was.

The one weekpoint I've noticed so far is definately the wireless card.  I connect between 40-50Mbps where all my other laptops connect at much better speeds.  My aspire s7 had a much stronger signal.  I haven't had a single dropped signal yet though, so no big deal.

My Clementine 128GB version has been in China since Friday with no change. I'm hoping it will be here by Friday, but the UPS info has not changed at all since the 14th...

Same here, just says it's being held in warehouse since 12/14.  I did get my Warranty Registration email today, however.

Well I got mine today.  Ordered on 12/5 received today 12/17.  I've done the partition thing noted on in this community.  I still have not dished off the d_backup and have added Microsoft suite, plus QuickBooks Pro and files and I have 34 gb used and 185 gb free.  Other than moving my backup to an external drive, I think I'll also get rid off McAffe (I've used in the past and has always been a hog.)  I use Webroot and it has served me well.  I'm just getting used to Windows 8, but the only quirky thing I haven't figured out is how to type in tablet mode ... it always disappears when I start to type.

Oh well, it's early into my usage, but I like it.  It's quick, don't seem to have internet problems, and the best thing is my daughters can now have the Ipad, while I have the Yoga.  Give you an update after awhile.

Quick update on the keyboard in tablet mode, you need to go to Lenovo's website and replace the pointer driver.  l'm currently typing with touchscreen now with no problems now.  Although, you would think this should be an automatic download update.

Man, i don't know what to do, this is the most botched UPS delivery and in danger of becoming irrecoverable. After 4 days of needless zig zagging back and forth and back and forth across north america, they are now claiming i didnt answer their first delivery attempt, with only one chance left. For their benefit I havent budged from my home all day, and my equipment would have recorded any attempt to buzz in or call me.

I realize this is a chaotic time for a delivery, but i guess i will have to camp out on the street to catch them (tomorrow night?). This thing may actually cost somebody hundreds in shipment, esp if they send back. It went to ak, ky customs, ca, then some error is posted to china, where it re-enters ky customs, then arrives here for supposed delivery attempt.

You can call UPS and have them hold it for pickup.

But yeah, the shipping is pretty whacky...

Your post makes me worried as I was hoping to get mine later this week before I leave for the holidays.

I checked online and saw that my order had 'shipped'.  There's a UPS tracking number, etc.

It's scheduled for deliver on 12/20 (it supposedly shipped 12/17).  This would fall in line with the fact that it's suppose to be "expedited shipping" = UPS Worldwide Express which is 2-3 day service.

shel: When did you order yours?

So I tracked mine and it says:

Shanghai, China     12/18/2012     2:48 P.M.     Pickup Scan
China                        12/18/2012     6:00 A.M.     Order Processed: Ready for UPS

It also says "Held in warehouse" on the top of the page.  It's unclear to me if it's in route or it's actually still sitting in their warehouse in Shanghai.

Btw, it says "signature required" - can this be changed as I will be at work?

I ordered on on Nov 23rd the silver one with maxed out specs then right before it shipped on the 5th of Dec I changed to clementin because it wasn't available then so I had to create a new order. I got shipping notification on the 12th and it has been sitting I am china "held in warehouse" since then. I have called lenovo and UPS and neither can do anything. UPS says it's the whole shipment that is taking longer than it should to be scanned through. Guess I will keep waiting even though it's been about a month now and I have been so anxious that it's starting to turn into resentment lol.

I finally got it the day after the estimate (when UPS made first attempted delivery) after standing outside in the blowing rain for hours to intercept them. While waiting I noticed the building entrance intercom wasnt working, and could direct them to a secondary working entrance so xmas deliveries could resume for everyone. Lesson is to debug your end of delivery path first.

Package condition looked great in spite of more air miles than any of you, as well as riding three times thru every pothole in town. At first usage, the device seems fine with none of the complaints listed around here.
