Yoga 13 vertical line on screen

I have used the Yoga 13 for several years and love it and want to use it for longer time.

 

There is a vertical line which appeard today morning suddently. It used be white color after I used the youtube video fixing pixel one for a couple of minutes it turn blue.

 

Should I run the youtube video longer? is it a right way? or it can not be fixed by myself and need to ask lenovo service to fix it.

Hi Xcyece,

 

Greetings.

 

Try to connect it to an external display and see if the same line is present.

Compare the display by restarting the machine to BIOS (FN + F2 on restart / turn on the laptop using the Novo button) to check if any hardware issue on lcd / lcd cable.

 

If the line shows in the BIOS and does not appear using an external display then it would be best to have it called in technical support for inwarranty repair.

 

Update us how it goes.

Hi,

 

I used the novo botton to get into BIOS, the line is still there.

 

I don't connect it with external screen but I press the prtscr and copy the screen to paint, there is not line at all. I think it shows the same result to use the external screen.

 

So my only choice is inwarranty repair? should I run the youtube vedio longer? it works- change the line from white to blue at least. could I just let the line go and keep using it any way?

Hi Xcyece,

 

As it appears on the BIOS but printscreen shows ok, then it is probable that you have a hardware display issue.

Data signals are fine so that confirms the graphic card and drive is ok as it most likely would show fine on external monitors too.

 

You can try the video tool longer if you feel that it can correct the color of the line but a repair is suggested for this issue. If the line is something that you can still tolerate, then you can plan your repair on a later time. If your warranty is still active, call technical support as soon as possible.
