Hey, Today I get Yoga 2-11 with Haswell i3-4012Y processor. It's different mainboard platform, with different BIOS AACN13W (not 92CNxxWW). I can say that this version has Legacy Boot Mode - fully working!

I really cannot understand how a laptop which comes without a CD drive has no option to boot from USB?
I've spent all day trying to get this sorted, only to find it's not even remotely possible.
It's the Lenovo Yoga 2 with the Intel Pentium N3520, unlike the previous posters model.
I take it there is still no solution to this? I updated to the latest bios.
BTW, I've just realised previous posters were talking about linux, I'm just trying to install windows 8.1.
Is it possible to install windows 8.1 this way?

No solution that I'm aware of. I don't think Lenovo even realizes what a huge problem this is. Case in point - they sent me a USB recovery drive to reimage my HDD.... Once that wouldn't work because of the gimped BIOS, they let me send it to the depot for repair. Basically any time someone needs to reimage their system, it will have to go back to the depot. This is going to be a huge cost to Lenovo so hopefully they push an updated BIOS with full legacy boot support for all models.

hi, im having a lot of the same problems mentioned here and was wondering if anyone could help me out.
im trying to boot a custom arch linux distro off a live usb.
i made sure the us has been formatted in FAT32, but im still running into difficulties.
when i go into advanced start up (Shift + Resart) i select the EFI USB boot option but what i think to be the BIOS gives me and error saying no USB option listed in boot manager.
the BIOS version i have is 92CN30WW (v 1.10)
i have disabled secure boot and fast boot, but am unable to change any other relevant settings.
the boot mode is locked (greyed out) as UEFI, so i cant set it to legacy mode.
i also dont have the "Optimized OS Defaults"/"Other OS" option in the exit section. the setting just isnt there.
im really at a loss for what to do at this point. any help would be greatly appreciated.
