Yoga 2 11 lap top powered off

I have the Yoga 2 11 laptop which is about a year old.  While in use it suddenly powered off and will not come back on.  It has never done this before. It will not power back on.  Any suggestions as to what the problem is and how to fix?

Re: Yoga 2 11 lap top powered off

Hi there, Aggie -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

1: Remove the AC adapter plug.

2: Remove the battery.

3: Press the power button for about 30 seconds. This will clear the capacitors.

4: Insert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

5: Press the power button.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Yoga 2 11 lap top powered off

This laptop does not have a removeable battery.  The battery is internal.  Any other suggestions?  I do have some mechanical ability if a simple fix is available.  Can I take the back off and remove the battery? If so, other than a screw driver, what additional tools would I need?

Re: Yoga 2 11 lap top powered off

Please go through this HMM for better hardware assistance.

1- Unplug the small pin, circled in yellow (see picture previous page)
2- Press 30 seconds to 1 minute on the ON / OFF button
3- Connect the power source (battery charger of computer). Here, for me, it still does not work.
4- Do not unplug the charger and reconnect the small pin of the battery. The power LED will re-appear and you can reboot your computer.

You need to get yourself a precision screwdriver kit. Be careful to remove the small pin, you must press carefully on each side (small clips) and be patient!! Make sure you have preferably two small screwdrivers or two small points.

Also, if you have to go any deeper then you would be voiding the warranty. I would recommend you to contact Lenovo service center and report your findings.
