Re: Yoga 2 13 (20344) WiFi Issues

All,

This part should be orderable through Lenovo service in any GEO - US, EMEA, etc.    To be clear (and I'm sure you all understand) this is not warranty to replace an N card with the AC card.   This is a customer's individual choice, and we have pursued this dicussion thread by trying to answer whether the newer card can be retrofitted, what the part number was, and what was required to make it work.

You may be able to find 3rd party suppliers that have it as well, although we can't control what is provided or the terms / compatibility, etc.

Our service parts, when sold through Lenovo service, carry a 90 day warranty.

I will ask which drivers were used on the Yoga 2 13 when we tested this.

Newest version that supports AC is 17.12.0.4, but is not 100% stable with 7260AC (Y2P).

Version 17.13.2.2 does only support N

Version 17.0.3.3 Kona works best and also supports AC;

this version cannot be downloaded on the Lenovo website anymore ....

I made a copy on my Dropbox:

Re: Yoga 2 13 (20344) WiFi Issues

Download the 17.0.3.3 drivers on another computer and install those via a USB stick.

If the WLAN still does not work change the setting in Device Manager or your wireless router to B/G only, so forget N.

For the time being

If still no connection; replace the 7260N by a newer and more reliable intel 7260AC.

Lots of info in this forum on that swap.

As you have the Yoga2Pro and this topic is about the Yoga 2 13, you should go to another topic.

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Yoga-Flex-Laptops-and/Yoga-2-Pro-WiFi-Replacement-Cards/td-p/1320753/pa...

Last option is to buy a USB3 network adapter, either cabled or wireless ....

Re: Yoga 2 13 (20344) WiFi Issues

This is the perfect replacement for the Realtek rubbish (RTL8723BE or other single band types):

more reliable and much faster!

The latest Intel 7260AC drivers are downloadable on the Lenovo product page.

Re: Yoga 2 13 (20344) WiFi Issues

Just noticed my card is the Realtek RTL8723BE in my laptop, will this make any difference to being able to swap it out for the dual band Intel as described above?

Re: Yoga 2 13 (20344) WiFi Issues

Trying to find a UK source to buy this Intel Dual Wireless AC7260, model no. 7260NGW, FRU P/N: 20200617. Can someone help or Lenovo issue a link to there relevant parts page. From reading all the threads it appears the FRU ref: 20200617 is particularly important?
