Instead of this

Re: Yoga 2 13 (20344) WiFi Issues

Please verify with Lenovo if these cards will work with the Yoga 2 13.

The white list in the BIOS does not support many cards: most Intel 7260AC cards do not work (only P/N 20200617).

These 7260AC versions won't work in the Yoga 2 13:

For the most right this is obvious ...

The Yoga 2 Pro supports all these cards, but none of these are in the Y2 13 white list ....

This one is for sure:

Re: Yoga 2 13 (20344) WiFi Issues

I do admire Mischa213's passion in going thru a lot of trouble and  founding the right card and contribute here.

I have further dug up document on what Lenovo recommended wireless adapter for the yoga2 13. The link which pointed to this reference is as below:

http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/lenovo_yoga_2_13_rn_us_ca.pdf

Within the document Lenovo clearly stated pre-installed wireless module for yoga2 13 is as follows:

FCC ID: 7260NGW (Model: PD97260NGU) usually refers to

  Intel 7260NGW is a abgn+ac + BT combo  module

  - or -

Intel 7260NGW is a abgn + BT combo  module

(Further reference on FCC ID: http://fccid.net/search.php?)

FCC ID: QCNFA335 (Model: PPD-QCNFA335) usually referes to

Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565  is a bgn + BT combo module

FCC ID: RTL8723BE (Model: TX2-RTL8723BE) usually referes to

Realtek RTL8723BE is a bgn + BT combo module

Although it is clearly outlined there is only three mainstream wireless module is supplied under the regulatory notice on yoga2 13 by Lenovo but in the current downloadable Hardware Maintenance Manual of Yoga2 13 only 802.11n Intel 7260 wireless module is fitted on the current model.

Hardware Maintenance Manual could be downloaded here:-

Re: Yoga 2 13 (20344) WiFi Issues

Hello Every one

I have some new foundings which I would like to share

I have found and tested one more AC wifi card which will work with the Yoga 2 13

It is the Broadcom BCM94352Z which I have mention in my previous msg here.

Lenovo PN: 20-200480 FRU: 04X6020

You will not require to install the wifi part driver if running Windows 8 and 8.1 juz bang in n go,

However, the BT parts of things will require you to install its driver manually.

Re: Yoga 2 13 (20344) WiFi Issues

Some good information here, but like many others I experience slow speed with the 2,4 wireless card and want to replace it. So I purchased a new card, and to my dismay it did not fit. My fault, as I didnt notice I got one with two holes for screws - soooo, my question is

WHAT DUAL BAND WIRELESS CARD works in Lenovo Yoga 2 13 exactly? And maybe a link to somewhere that sells it?

Re: Yoga 2 13 (20344) WiFi Issues

Hello Guys

Some addition to my previous post.

As swankiller mention about Dual Band card, I was then realize I am not picking up the 5GHz band so I dig deeper into the case. Although Win 8 does automatically picked up Broadcom BCM94352Z wifi driver but only 2.4GHz range works, in order to fully utilitize your wifi adapter. You will need to install the wifi driver manually as well.

In reference to the forum link below:

http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/broadcom-bcm4352-bcm94352hmb.755647/

Someone pointed out that Asus have written a better driver than others so I tested upon the Lenovo's ones. Got to say yes the wifi signal will goes up to 600 odd Mbps and slowly stable down at around 580 plus Mbps. So I took their word for it and installed the Asus written driver for broadcom and the signal is dead on the 800 plus Mbps range.

For anyone who is interested in trying the driver, here is one of the reference link from asus:

Cheers

Re: Yoga 2 13 (20344) WiFi Issues

Today I contacted Lenovo on whether or not it is possible to order the Intel 7260NGW (P/N 20200617) adaptor via Lenovo (as advised by Mark in an earlier post). They advised me to use http://www.lenovoserviceshop.com/.

When I enter the p/n 20200617 in the serviceshop search engine, I'm forwarded to a product called 'WLAN Module' with the following MSN (service?) number: 35020612.

However, this product is currently out of stock. I made a quote for the part and Lenovo will contact me within 10 days.... So let's wait and see if this is the right part.
