Re: Yoga 2 13 Internals

Hello. I just wanted you to know how helpful your post was in walking through all the steps to get  the SSD installed, cloning the OS, etc. I followed them  to a T and had NO problems. I used a Transcend m.2 256gb ssd and it installed with  no problemes. I actually just  took out the Hybrid drive to save a little on weight. I bought a 256G SD card that Ill use if I need any more storage space. Its a pardigm shift for me... I really dont ned all of that local storage on it. I have a few other laptops and a server I run so I have storage elsewhere. I took a lot of pics as I walked through and performed all of the steps...I think I may share what I did here so other folks can see it as well. Its good to have a community of people working through these issues. Thanks again!

I'm very glad that your process went smoothly. Congrats! I too had pics but there size was to large to upload and I didn't want to mess around with compressing the size and all

Oh Ok...well we'll see if I ever get around to it. I can say that adding the SSD has added tremendous value to a solid little laptop...

I am having some trouble...

The SSD I bought won't show up in the BIOS. I just flashed the BIOS to the newest version but still nothing.

Anyone have a suggerstion for me?

On further inspection it seems that the drive is a PCIe M.2 SSD. Is that the problem?

I am trying to use it as my main drive. I was under the impression that I had to clone my OS to the SSD but first I have to see it my BIOS...

I even tried to unplug the main 500GB SSHD but then nothing happened. Starting to think that the Yoga 2 doesn't support PCIe 2.0 M.2 SSD's.

I know I have seen other posts about moving their c drive from 500gb to an m.2. My yoga 3 didn't come with a 500gb just an m.2. So I cloned the 128gb m.2 to a 256gb m.2 with little problems. Keep searching and researching this forum for posts.
