don't think anything is compatible or fits in your lenovo unless a tech opens it up and sees what's there.
These things fly through an assembly line and if they run out of something they throw in what they have.
Even Lenovo cant tell you by the part number or serial number what is in it.

I had to buy a 25 dollar cable on ebay in order for a second drive to fit in my lenovo 2 13 yoga, and then buy a third party SSD drive.
but the good news was that best buy could install the cable and had a $120 drive (256g) off the shelf to put in.
Others were telling me the only thing that would fit was $400 , and they wer wrong about fitting.

yikes, I have had good luck with lenovo but you have to wonder !!!!!

do you happen to have the part number for that cable or the listing on ebay?

I just wanted everyone to know that the tech guy from lenovo i called said that i cannot add more than one ssd, when i opened my yoga 2 13 it had one m.2 slot, for me it was between the 850 evo m.2 or the crucial m550 both 250gb, i didnt go for the mx200 since it was more of a budget choice plus m550 speeds were higher. Either way i ended up with the Samsung since i find them more reliable and since the samsung evo came with 5 YEARS WARRANTY!!!! Anyways got it today the 250gb and works perfectly on my yoga 2 13 very happy with it. So now i have 500gb sshd+250gb ssd on windows 8.1

I fitted the 850 evo and its alot better than the mx200, the mx200 is more of a budget friendly choice, also dont forget samsung comes with a 5 yr warranty. If you want to go for crucial go for the 500gb m550 as its faster and more reliable than the mx200. Again though i would go for the samsung

Why even get the mx200 it des work in the yoga 2 13 but its nowhere near as good as the 850 evo i bought both and tested both the 850 evo gave better temps and higher reads and writes. Amazons quite cheap too but youll have to wait till theyre back in stock, lambdatek has it for i think 105. Its still defo worth the price.

i just dont need the best performance, just the good access time of solide state drives.I dont think i will use this product for 5 years (guarantee - the 3 crucial offers are enough for me).
Also the firmware problems at samsungs products with decreasing performance -> i dont trust in those products which work fast...or maybe only for a year.

Overall for me it is not worth to spend ~35% more

The Crucial MX200 definitely works in the Yoga 2 13.

I just got the 250GB version and thanks to the wealth of information in this thread, install and system transfer went like a breeze (recognized straight away by the - latest version - Bios). It does make a significant difference for boot and app start time. The benchmarks are pretty good,  they might be even better with the Evo850, but I'm not sure it would make much difference in real life use.

The MX200 500gig is about the same in performance as the MX100 512gig, but in smaller sizes the MX200 is way better than the lower capacity MX100s (due to techniques to offset lack of parallel units in smaller capacity drives). So, if you can find a cheap end of line MX100 512 it may be a better option than an MX200 256. Just don't buy a low capacity MX100 as the MX200s are way faster at the low end.

A few months ago, as per this thread, I installed the M.2 Crucial M550. The trouble I have is every now and then the SSD disappears from the boot up. What this means is that I can be using Windows then it suddenly shuts down. Upon attempting a restart, only the hard drive can be found and the SSD is gone so it can't boot. This is because my hard drive is only used for storage and doesn't have Windows on it. I need to restart several times until it finds the Crucial SSD again in the UEFI then change the boot-up order.

Anyone else have this issue? Is it the crappy SSD from Crucial or the Lenovo Yoga 2 the issue? Why does the SSD disappear.

Re: Adding HDD to SSD setup

For me, I have bought the slim 5mm HDD with special lenovo cable, but it's not recognized by the bios.

Some idea ? :-)
