Yoga 2 13 Touchpad not working and Code 24

My Yoga 2 13 had touchpad issues, slowly stopped working. The driver was updated and reinstalled and I tried several other things, but finally reset to Windows 8.1 (I had Windows 10). Even with a complete sysem reset the touchpad doesnt work. It shows up as Lenovo Pointing Device in Device Manager and "show hidden devices." But I receive the Code 24 This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24). I am so upset at all the issues I have had with this Yoga, from the bad wifi drivers that kept dropping my wifi and the blue screen of death. Anyone know what I can do to fix this Code 24? I have read so many other entries and am hoping it is not a known hardware issue.

Re: Yoga 2 13 Touchpad not working and Code 24

Hi there, Cbick -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Are you sure you uninstalled it and did not disable it in Windows Device Manager by mistake?

If you uninstalled it and Windows did not reinstall it on the next boot up then you will have to install the touchpad drivers yourself.  Download the touchpad drivers for your model and operating system at the link below.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Yoga 2 13 Touchpad not working and Code 24

Hi there,

The device does show enabled, not disabled so I do not think it was not enabled. When I turned my computer on, the PS/2 compatible mouse appears under Mouse in Device Manager. The following information is associated with it:

6.3.9600.16384
6/21/2006
This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)
digital signer: microsoft windows
plugged into PS/2 mouse port.

When I clicked on the new device driver link you sent, I still receive the same Code 24, after installing and restarting. Except now in Device Manager it shows Lenovo Pointing device (rather than PS/2 compatible mouse). IT shows for location: plugged into PS/2 mouse port and driver date is 12/19/2013.

Under System Devices I also have Synaptics SMBus Driver with Driver Date 12/19/2013 and 17.0.14.71 version.
There seems to be many posts about similar touch pad issues and I have tried following their fixes. I resorted to reinstalling 8.1 but I had upgraded to Windows 10 last year. Now I am back to 8.1 with a clean reinstallation. I was surprised even after the installation that the touchpad still did not work.

I'm at a loss as what to try next. Thank you.
