Yoga 2 13 Touchscreen Problem after Win 10 Upgrade

2016-09-06, 13:39 PM

After upgrading my Yoga 2 13" Notebook to Windows 10, the operating system is unable to recognize the pen & touch drivers on the system board. I'm able to see what appear to be generic "Slate" and "USB Input" drivers in under install Human Interface Devices within the Device Manager. However, when observing Windows System information, the OS reports that it is not capable of Pen & Touch. Lenovo's Synaptics drivers do not appear to install the Touchscreen drivers upon installation.

I have attempted performing a full system recovery multiple times now, and installing Lenovo drivers manually. No change in status.

Looking for a solution if anyone else has been able to resolve this issue.

Sorry, I never found a workaround or solution to the problem. I reached out to Lenovo, they said the touchscreen hardware was unsupported in Windows 10. The manufacturer never published a touch-display driver for publication by Lenovo. The only way to restore functionality is to revert to re-imaging the device with Windows 8. I will never purchase another 2-in-1 laptop as long as it's considered a premium function. I wanted to device to work on a light weight device and read PDF files on the train. What a hunk of junk. Scrapped it at Staples 6 months ago when it ceased to boot into BIOS or even POST.
