Yoga 2 13 Touchscreen

I have only very recently bought this Yoga 2 a few weeks ago.

The touch screen became unresponsive recently. I first thought it might have been caused by the windows 8.1 upgrade.

 

However I have since noticed when I view the device manager & Human Interface Devices, view hidden devices the

"HID-compliant touch screen" is greyed out.

 

If I move the screen so that it is laying flat the touch screen stutters back to life briefly.

 

I may be able to bring the screen upright and it will work for a little while. But inevitably will stop again.

 

To my mind this strongy suggests a hardware issue.

 

I only bought this for its touch screen feature.

 

I'm beginning to regret my purchase!

I also have the Yoga 2 13.  I love this notebook/tablet.

 

Have you tried doing a OneKey Recovery to force a factory reset?    If that does not work, I would return / exchange it.

 

One of the big advantages of the Yoga 2 13 is that it can have the 500GB SSHD and a 128GB SSD for a fast performing PC with a lot of storage for not a lot of money ($898). The BB Yoga 2 13 has an empty M.3 SSD slot.
