Re: Yoga 2 13 Wireless Card Unauthorized Message

Why do owners outside of the USA still have a whitelist BIOS when this is supposedly solely to facilitate FCC complaince?

The only working 7260AC card this far

is installed in new delivered Yoga 2 13's with BIOS v1.09

and has Windows hardware ID:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_08B1&SUBSYS_C1708086&REV_6B

Several people in the Yoga 2 Pro thread have reported that THIS CARD works in their machines. Has anyone tried it in the Yoga 2 13?

With the current BIOS white list this card will not work !

NOT 1.11 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_08B1&SUBSYS_C0708086&REV_6B
NOT 1.11 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_08B1&SUBSYS_C0708086&REV_9B

YES 1.09 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_08B1&SUBSYS_C1708086&REV_6B

We are only 1 bit  away from a working 7260AC.
Or a whole BIOS ...

In fact,I have already sucessfully hacked bios,But I find the backup  tool software can't backup bios file within EC.rom file.I  try to many kinds of tool software, but nobody can sucessful.

I use BIOS_Backup_TooKit to backup, file size is 6Mb ,but official file is 9.63Mb.
and use ezh2o software load file, and lastly use Winhex software to change number.
I use InsydeFlash to flash file before modify it not need flash EC.rom.But yoga can't enter update bios screen after yoga reboot.
If you want to try, I happy to offter this file ,But If the cause of any problem, I will not be responsible for it.

So I  try to hack official offter file, but nobody software sucessful to read file

You obviously don't know what you are doing. I would stop before you brick your own computer or even worst, someone's else.

Re: Yoga 2 13 Wireless Card Unauthorized Message

Too bad Dell is a little late, They just released a 7000 13.3 full hd touch 500Gb HD plus 3 year on site warranty AND 3 year Accidental Damage insurance, core I5 2,7Ghz, DUAL BAND wireless card, 8 Gb memory for 1021.00. I would have bought it if it was available and more yet now.. I'm trying to sell my Yoga2 13.3 if someone knows who want it... I want to get rid of it and move away from Lenovo, unhappily....

Re: Yoga 2 13 Wireless Card Unauthorized Message

I looked at the Dell, but it has a far more worse battery in comparison to the Yoga 13 and is heavier in weight (1,7 kg instead of 1,59). The design seems to be taken from the Yoga 13. The price for the version with an Core i5 seems to be the same for a Yoga 2 13.

I bought a couple of weeks ago this wifi card from Ebay (Intel 7260NGW BN), and the Wifi works very well sinds I replaced it. It is unfortunately a 2.4 Ghz card, but in practice I can work with it. Most new routers has the possibility to send the wifi signal at two frequencies (2,4 and 5 Ghz). The card has the right fru number, FRU # 20200409.

Seems to be 2x2 can you confirm it connects at 300mbps? Atleast it should give me like 20MB instead of 10 if it actually works.

I don't have a router at the moment which supports 2,4 Ghz at 300 mbps (I'm at 144 mbps now), but the spec page from Intel says yes: link
