Betreff: Yoga 2 13 Wireless Card Unauthorized Message

2014-12-06, 22:47 PM

I've seen several references to Lenovo P/N 04X6010 as a wireless ac card that will work. Called Lenovo tech support and was told that the Yoga2 will not accept ac dual band, only the 2.4G card currently installed. They had nothing on P/N 04X6010.

I've tried the 06X6010.

This card is used by the Thinkpad Yoga.

It is an HMW type card,

little hard to get this card in the NGFF slot ....

Do not order this 20200555 !

Lenovo Support should by now of their own 20200617 Yoga 2 13 specific Intel 7260AC ...

Buy that card or swap the Y2 13 for a Y2P

I have a 13" Yoga2 Pro, is that different than the Yoga2 13 being discussed here? It has the same wireless card issue.

Lenovo posted a 'solution':

7260AC SAR specific 20200617

Which means buying another card from them ...

Re: Yoga 2 13 Wireless Card Unauthorized Message

Many thanks to all who contributed to the investigations done so far.

Apart from the WIFI issue I am quite happy with this notebook but the WIFI inconvinience is actually shortening my life.

To overcome this I would be willing to spend this unreasonable amount of money for a Lenovo tweaked 7260AC card but I am wondering if anyone has already had success with it.

In particular, I am interested if this card works with BIOS 1.11 which is currently on my yoga and if someone was able to get AC to work with gross data rates > 300 MBit/s.

Would be very nice if someone could share their experience - either good or bad.

Many thanks in advance.

Re: Yoga 2 13 Wireless Card Unauthorized Message

Hi guys,
New member and first time Lenovo owner :catmad:

I bought my Yoga 2 13 yesterday and it is fitted with the RealTek RTl8723be wireless card. After a lot of reading I find that the most dicussion centres around the Intel cards.

My problem is the range - extremelly poor! If I am next to the router I can get good speed but if just up the staire (not far at all) it really drops off.

I have tried around 5 different drivers. The latest I found was on the HP website:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&softwareitem=ob-141169-1
Driver version: 2013.10.1015.2014

The page states: "Fixes an issue where the wireless LAN reception on the system is unexpectedly weak"

I have switch off the power management option and my latest setting is to switch it to 802.11b only. Whilst the connection to the router does not drop, webpages would simply time out and downloads dropped to 0.0Mbps.

With it set on "b" it seems to maintain a solid but slow connection although some pages are timing out.

Windows is showing usually a full 5 bars (sometimes 4)

The internet here runs at 10Mbps but all I can get to the laptop when away from the router is 1.0!!

Lastly, I took the back off to check the two antenna wires are securely fixed - they are.

I am really disappointed as the laptop is great otherwise and the price was also.

If there is a definitive fix for the Realtek I am all ears.

Surely everyone who is getting the newer Intel cards are not paying all this money to make a product work as it should have out of the box?

Many thanks,
Jack
