Yoga 2 13" Keyboard BEZEL Replacement...

Because a screw worked loose in my Yoga 2, the unit flexed and broke the keyboard bezel. (See image).

Two questions:

  1. Is this part available?
  2. Is there a video that shows how to replace it? I see many videos on component replacement, but haven't seen one that goes as deep as the plastic chassis around the keyboard.

Thanks.

Re: Yoga 2 13" Keyboard BEZEL Replacement...

Hi shields,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

You can review this article:

How to lookup and purchase Accessories, Upgrades, and FRU/CRU Replacement Parts

CHecking with the hardware manual shows example part number 90205132 ZIVY0 Upper Case SV W/KB-US. You can check on the parts lookup page for your upper case that includes the bezel and keyboard.

Check availability of the parts with Lenovo encompass here.

You can reference the hardware manual for dissassembly although since most of the parts are attached to it, you may need to remove major parts altogether as discussion here. Service training videos are currently not available at the moment for the model.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Regards

Re: Yoga 2 13" Keyboard BEZEL Replacement...

Thanks. That's helpful.

I'll probably pass on getting it. That's pretty pricey for all the more trouble the crack is.

I wish Lenovo would have tightened the screws to begin with. I've had two Yogas -- and neither had the screws tightened on the bottom. Smiley Sad

Again - thanks.
