Yoga 2 Pro: Fan Intake

Hello guys! I was wondering where the fan intake for the Y2P is?

It seems like the middle of the laptop is the intake (has a grille) and the outsides are exhaust (you can see fins inside). If you have one, you can just turn it on and run something processor intensive, and you'll see what the heat is like. I haven't had a problem with is getting hot, though I haven't run something processor intensive for a long time.

 

Looking at the notepal it looks like the fans are on the bottom, which will just push air into the solid bottom of the laptop. Not sure you'll be able to direct it into the intake.

The intake/outflow is all along the lower back edge of the bottom of the unit and runs the length between the hinges.

 

There are no other vents on the bottom etc. which is nice. See:

These things run pretty cool. Mine gets very warm gaming, but the fan still never seems to go on enough for me to tell you which side the hot air comes out of :)

 

If you're not gaming (or equivalent) then I wouldn't really worry about heat issues.

carefully hold a lit lighter or candle near the vents too see which are pulling air in vs. pushing out.
