I've had this system for a while - Came with Win8.1
About 2 weeks after the warranty expired, the internal display just stopped working
I can get to an external display; however, would like to start using it as a laptop again
External Display Works
If I touch the LCD screen the touch capabilities also work
Something that just hit me is that I have not tried any of the other capabilities (tablet mode)
The system does not even recognize an internal display
I've tried updating everything and still not working
Tried to do a system restore - didn't work either
Can that display really have gone bad that quick?

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.
Were there any recent updates/changes to the unit, these may have caused this, as it is not showing in the device.
It could potentially be a connection issue with the cables on the inside.
Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.
(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)
1. Turn the unit off
2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter
3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds
4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter
5. Turn the unit on as normal
