Yoga 2 Pro Keyboard acting weird

2016-07-25, 18:47 PM

Hello,

on my Yoga 2 Pro keyboard some keys do not work without capslock-on.

i.e. hitting the P button does not do anything unless capslock is on; with capslock and shift I get a small p. The same with other keys on the right side of the keyboard.

Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot.

Hi matth_weiss ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

We can isolate the keyboard issue using other keyboards (external USB ) and onscreen keyboard to check if same would happen .

Booting on a rescue image and using the same keyboard can isolate software versus hardware issue .

Same goes if you try typing on the BIOS ( security tab for creating password would allow you to test but do not save it and just restart) .

Update us how it goes.

Regards

Hello Spidey,

I just reset Windows 10, but that didn't help.

On the onscreen keyboard the 'p' works as usual, in the BIOS Admin Password screen I need capslock to get a letter out of the 'p'-button.

Sounds like hardware?

Thanks for your help.

Hi matth_weiss ,

Greetings.

With you already refreshing the operating system already and having also the same issue on the BIOS leaves us with mechanical keyboard failure and you may need to have it service or call in technical support.

I guess if you need to use your laptop the onscreen keyboard and external keyboard would help in the time being.

Regards
