Re: Yoga 2 Pro - Screen Flickering and Screen Blanking

I created a video of what I'm doing lol:

And yeah, I guess I do the same exact thing, but it doesn't work for me. I wonder why. Lenovo should just update the drivers...

If I do this:

1) Choose “Update Driver Software”
2) Choose “Browse my computer for driver software”
3) Choose “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”
4) Click “Have Disk” button
5) Select the directory with the driver

EDIT: I figured it out. If anyone cares to know, follow the above steps, but for step #5 choose the Graphics folder and select the igdlh64.inf file.

EDIT: I'm still not sure if this fixed the flickering, but now I feel like I have a much higher range of brightness. No flickering so far for me though.

Re: Yoga 2 Pro - Screen Flickering and Screen Blanking

Hello, I bought my Yoga 2 Pro yesterday and I EXPERIENCE ALL THE ABOVE ISSUES with the screen.

I did everything that is recommended on this forum, namely: turn off Adaptive brightness, turn on maximum perfomance both on battery and on adapter, REINSTALLED the driver (version March 2014 from Intel) and the screen IS FLICKERING!

It is flickering like mad when brightness level is below ~50% of maximum value.

Lenovo must do something about it! It is a serious issue if you need low brightness level, for example when you work at night !

Please do not give up, we paid our money, we must have a patch or something! :smileyhappy:

Click on the button on the first post, first page that says "I have this problem too" (or something like that) and maybe if we get enough people to click it, maybe lenovo will do something about it... Theres already 4,000 views on the first post, obviously this is a serious issue that lenovo needs to address.

Unfortunatley the issue still remains with the newest Intel driver. For me it starts to flicker below 40% brightness, just like before.

What I have noticed though, the flickering increases with with a higher workload. It is hard to notice for me when the Yoga is idling around. This has to be an issue with the power supply. If it was only a driver issue, we would notice the flickering when connected with the power plug.

The lag of response from Lenovo on all these issues is shocking ( Trackpad, Screen Flickering, Usb 3 Port and many more for som users). I like the Yoga in general, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone right now.

How is it good business for them to just sit back and do nothing about this issue? This computer wasn't cheap, and based on what people have said, I'm not interested in sending mine in to have it "fixed" then come back with the same problems. Seriously...not even them addressing the issue or mentinoing to us that they are working to fix it.

Side note, anyone notice that when their screen starts flickering, swiping their finger around on the touchpad will stop the flickering? just until you lift your finger, once you lift up it will go back to flickering.

When I was on the phone with technical support, we concluded my flickering problem is hardware-related, not driver-related because the flickering and blanking continued as we were doing a factory reset of the computer, which does not use the Intel drivers. My guess is Lenovo hasn't addressed this issue on a more widespread basis because it will be very expensive for them to repair, requiring a mass recall. In any case, I'm not impressed with Lenovo build quality or their customer service so far.

Oh I know it's hardware in my case. Aside from the flashing and the dimming, once every now and again I'll press a key and it will double input (mouse click as well)
I'm in med school right now and can't go without a computer for seven days. I'll need to wait for a term break and figure it out then. I just don't want to send it away and have it come back still busted or worse which happened with a Dell I owned several years back. This is frustrating considering I dropped quite a bit on this computer.

Choose "I have this question too" Maybe we can attract some attention and hopefully get this issue resolved. If not, this is definitely the last time I'm purchasing from lenovo...
