Re: Yoga 2 Pro Screen flickering to black frequently after upgrade to Windows 10

2018-02-02, 10:52 AM

There is a lot of proposals in this thread.  I still have the flickering issue (only on battery power).

It used to occur after half hour or mor, now it starts almost immediately after removing from power.

The issue has been there (much less pronounced) from the windows 8 times, 4 years ago.

There are promising proposaals related to "Intel Display Settings" and some Power setting modes (Lenovo Energy Manager).

My problem now is that I cannot find a path to those functions - coan someone help:

- How to access Intel display Settings

- How to access Energy Manager

Thanks in advance :-)

Hi andrersiq,

Follow this Setup Guide and your Y2P will run smoothly with Windows 10.

- Right click on desktop

- In the popup menu select "Graphic Properties"

- In Intel Graphics Control Panel dialog box click on "Power"

- On the left side click "On battery"

- Disable "Panel self-refresh"

- Apply

That's all as for the display flickering.

It would help if you install earlier Intel graphics drivers, the newer drivers cause more flickering.

========================

- Right click on desktop

- In the popup menu select "Graphic Properties"

- In Intel Graphics Control Panel dialog box click on "Power"

- On the left side click "On battery"

- Disable "Panel self-refresh"

- Apply

========================

Disable "Panel Self-Refresh" definitively didn't fix flickering for all.
I strongly suggest the Energy Manager trick that's 100% reliable.

Thanks for helping. It's probably too early to cooncluude anything, but so fat I've worked a few hours on battery with no flickering, after disabling the self-refresh.

The Energy Manager... How do I find that?
