Yoga 2 Pro Update Retriever Catalog file not found

Hi,

I'd like to import Yoga 2 Pro Win 8.1 drivers using ThinkVantage Update Retriever.

Using machine code 80AY, I get a failed query, saying "Catalog file not found".

Tried the same using machine codes 20266 and 2026, same fail.

What machine code do I need to use, and is there a list of machine codes available somewhere?

Thanks!

Re: Yoga 2 Pro Update Retriever Catalog file not found

Run sysinfo. Line 7 is model.  Use the 1st 4 characters.

20266 is your machine TYPE.

You can find model numbers here:

OK, thanks!

So indeed machine type is 80AYCTO.

As said; 80AY gives an error in Update Retriever. Any clues?

Re: Yoga 2 Pro Update Retriever Catalog file not found

Hi both,

Is this functionality available for non-Think systems?  I don't think so, but haven't ever looked into it in depth.

I also don't think it works on non-Think products.

Re: Yoga 2 Pro Update Retriever Catalog file not found

Update Retriever relies on a System Update catalog. As Z and Richk point out, SU would have to support a Yoga. During the last few years, Lenovo has built SU catalogs for non-Think systems to support Companion system update plugin[mainly under win 10].

You DO have a SU catalog. Not much in it. 2 entries.

  https://download.lenovo.com/catalog//80AY_Win10.xml

No catalogs for 80AY win7 or win8.

Note: I have no idea what a SU install on your Yoga might do.  It might say NOT supported on your machine and terminate install.  If it did install, it would fail on win7 and win8, no catalog found.

I do find a Yoga 2 Pro 80AY sold worldwide.

Re: Yoga 2 Pro Update Retriever Catalog file not found

Great info,

thanks everyone!

These devices have been moved within our organisation, originally purchased in US.

I'll import the Win10 drivers to see what's up, might decide to do a custom TVSU install on one of the Yoga's.

Cheers
