I did that the first time too and got generic Bluetooth device in device manager and it seem to work.

But with the AC card I also installed the Intel Bluetooth drivers and  and the additional line on the device manager saying "Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) 4.0 + HS Adapter", along with other lines. So you might get additional features by installing the intel drivers.

Re: Yoga 2 Pro WiFi Replacement Cards????

After removing the intel/motorola drivers, the Generic BT driver was working.  I then went to install the newer intel drivers for the 7260AC and after the reboot had no Bluetooth and the unknown USB device showed up.  After a hard boot (power down and then power back up), however, the new Intel drivers showed up and worked.

Now to figure out some other network oddities: loss of internet access (wifi link still up, but can't contact other machines on network) and recurring problems copying files to/from NAS.  May post info and questions on that later.

Thanks for the assistance.

Mike

Yes, that is what it shows now. Did not know what it meant though. The swap was well worth it!

Re: Yoga 2 Pro WiFi Replacement Cards????

I would guess it would be the same, but I just have the Yoga 2, not the Pro, (still not sure what is the difference besides mine is black, not silver), but would this wireless card upgrade work for mine too? System says I have the N7260. I am having the problem with connectivity problems and am hoping this would fix it, because I really like the computer, just hate not being able to connect to wifi at work (I am good with wifi at the house and other random places.)

One thing you could do is open the case and verify what kind of WiFi card you have.

When I replaced the card in my Y2P, the WiFi card had the following info:

Intel Wireless-N 7260

Model: 7260NGW BN

If you have the same chip, you'd probably be safe in swapping it out.

Your is black huh? Sounds like you have the ThinkPad version (Not IdeaPad), to my knowledge it the only one that comes in black. It has the little eraser mouse thing in the center of the keyboard, yes?

If it is indeed a ThinkPad, you may waht to check in the ThinkPad forum. But I would assume it also uses the new M.2 NGFF form factor WiFi card the Yoga 2 Pro uses. Just be sure to confirm.

As to it fixing you WiFi issue I can really say. The 7260AC card has worked great for me, but I also had no issues with the 7260N card.

No not thinkpad, and just had read after getting it that a lot of people have issues connecting to WiFi, and I have halfway figured out I think it comes from trying to connect to 5ghz routers, the routers I don't have problems with, are all cheapo 2.4. I figured I'd try to change my WiFi card and after finding this I just wanted to make sure I'd be getting the right one, but I guess I just have to pop the back off first and take a peek.

I think the main difference with those is the thikness to accomadate the larger hard drive. Other than that most everything else should be interchangeable. I was told the specs were the same as the yoga pro 2 like chip, ram, and so on. They were out when I bought mine but I wanted the solid state drive and smaller one.

Interesting, I guess it's the recently released Yoga 2 13 (non Pro).

Here are the cards on newegg:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=Intel+7260&N=-1&isNodeId=1

The new form factor used in the Yoga 2 Pro is narrower and taller, the M.2 NGFF.

The older form factor is wider and shorter.

Double check, I assume it will be the same M.2 card that is used in the Y2P.

Good luck...
