Re: Yoga 2 Pro Windows 10 Problem

2015-08-30, 12:30 PM

Like I said I got all of my drivers from Windows update as they were all either the same version or later than the lenovo drivers for 10.0 (10.18.15.4256   7/18/2015 for graphics). To get the windows drivers go into device manager and uninstall the display driver you manually installed (will be the latest version) and let windows update install the 4256 driver (you can go into windows update then force a refresh after uninstalling).

Mine doesn't work at all.  I keep trying to update the driver but no luck.  How do I get your driver and get Win 10 to take it?

Mine is 10.18.10.4252

Tried it on my Yoga 2 13" and still can't access the brightness controls.  Ideas?

Don't fully understand what you did. Can you elaborate? These are the steps I would do

1. Fully uninstall the video driver from device manager

2. Reboot the computer, the resolution will be suboptimal but that is OK

3. Run Windows Update (Check for Updates)

4. It should show a graphics device driver being downloaded and installed

5. You may have to reboot (not sure)

6. You should have 10.18.10.4256 installed

Re: Yoga 2 Pro Windows 10 Problem

2015-08-31, 15:55 PM

I tried to upgrade to Win 10 again this morning. I first made sure I had the latest Win 8.1 video driver. I uninstalled 10.18.10.3304 9/9/2013. On restart I upgraded the video driver via microsoft and it went to 10.18.14.4264.

I then performed the Win 10 upgrade. Of course the video was not working as expected. Not able to change resolution, brightness does not work, etc. 10.18.15.4256. 7/17/2015 was installed. I have the message "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43).

I uninstalled video driver and rebooted. video driver was replaced with the same driver. 10.18.15.4256. 7/17/2015.

Still nothing works, I have the message "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43).

My only choice for today is Lenovo support or go back to Win 8.1.

Don't know if this will solve your problems, but there is an Intel driver update tool:

http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect

You may use this tool to update the graphics driver to the latest one provided by Intel.

Sorry to hear that some of you have problems after upgrading to Win10. My update on my Yoga 2 Pro went flawlessly. The only thing I did before the upgrade was checking all drivers.

Re: Yoga 2 Pro Windows 10 Problem

I tried what you recommended.  It gets worse.  The screen is no longer super bright, it is now super dim.  And now it starts up and switches irreversibly into the table mode when I want it in the laptop horizontal mode.

I deleted the driver and ran the Windows Update and it says it is already up to date.  Hard to work with it in tablet mode.

The driver software that I deleted as per your suggestion is back with the yellow warning triangle and a Device Status that reads: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (Code 43)".

Any help?

I have the same problem.  What is the answer anybody know?

As I wrote before, Lenovo says it will fix the problem for a mere $69.00.

Seems that is the definition of a predatory approach towards customer service.

I keep trying.  I'm on a 120 minute hold with MS right now.  "Did you know that the Start Menu is back in Windows 10?"  About the 110th time I heard it. "Did you know you can upgrade to Windows 10 for free?"

There is a solution, although a Pain in the **** solution.

Be sure to backup all your files and inportant information.

Put the computer back to out of box using the One Button Recovery.

When up, upgrade to Windows 10.

Then restore all your files and reinstall all your programs.

This worked for me.

Originally, I went from Win 8 out of box to Win 8.1 to Win 8.1 Pro and then Win 10 Pro over a 2 year period. I went back to Win 8 using restore, then to Win 8.1 Pro and then to Win 10 Pro and the video is working correctly.

Now I need to reinstall all my programs and files.
