Re: Yoga 2 Pro bluetooth disconnecting (now working fine)

2014-04-07, 7:28 AM

Looks like I've found a solution that works for me permanently - I disabled power management for the Bluetooth adapter in Device manager and so far both of my BT mice (Logitech Ultrathin Touch and Microsoft Sculpt Comfort) have been working flawlessly for several days.

This didn't seem to affect the batter badly I can still leave the computer in sleep mode and it doesn't drain more battery than it used to

On my new Yoga 2 13 (non-pro), my new Logitech ultrathin mouse disconnected twice. I powered the mouse off and on to get it to work again. On the second disconnect I decided to look at the advanced power management settings. I was using Power Saver and saw that the wireless adapter setting was set to Maximum Power savings. I changed it to Medium Power savings and have not see the problem of disconnects again today.

ok. I've disabled power management for both BT and USB devices. Lets see if that will help the connectivity. I've also diabled power mngmt for wifi as well at the same time, as i realize the wifi doesn't really autoconnect if not prompted.

OS ver: Windows 8.1

This has been a real headache! After trying absolutely EVERYTHING this worked for me:

1. Open Add/remove programs

2. Uninstall Intel PROset/Wireless Software for Bluetooth(R) Technology (patch version 3.0.1337.1) drivers

3. Download bluetooth driver from http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS038317

4. Extract the bt136w8164.exe file BUT DO NOT INSTALL.

5. Go to the location where you find the extracted files (default location is C:\Drivers\Intel Bluetooth Driver).

6. Go to \Intel Bluetooth Driver\Win8\Win64\Install (not the 8.1-folder) and click Setup.exe. You will now install the 8.0 drivers.

7. You might get a warning message, ignore this and click continue.

8. Device manager will now look like this and for me at least it is finally working.

Congratulations and Thank you for the steps! My hopes were really high but I still have the same problem. My BT stays disabled in device manager!

asnandrey,

when you right click on the Wireless Bluetooth Adapter in device manager are you able to select Enable?  What happens when you do?

When I Enable the bluetooth device, I get a message saying that the device was successfully enabled...but the device immediately becomes disabled again.

Why does your bluetooth device show as "Generic" and not Intel HS?
