Re: Yoga 2 Pro bluetooth disconnecting (now working fine)

I followed your instructions but I did not get the final result.

In my deep frustrations I "killed" the computer by pressing the power button for 10 seconds and when it started up again I killed it during startup.

I don't know how, but everything works now.

You might try Sony's device drivers utility

Recommendation: If you are inexperienced with updating Sony device drivers manually, we highly recommend downloading the Sony Bluetooth VGP-BMS30 Driver Utility. This tool will download and update the correct Sony Bluetooth VGP-BMS30 driver versions automatically, protecting you against installing the wrong Bluetooth VGP-BMS30 drivers.

I am having the same problem with my bluetooth as everybody else.  Trying to connect bluetooth to a Vizio soundbar and it keeps disconnecting.  I tried all the drivers (generic, latest intel, etc).  I even tried an external USB bluetooth dongle to connect to the vizio and still getting the same result.  I don't know why the bluetooth (either internal or external) has a hard time with the Yoga 2 Pro.  I'll take any suggestions but it is disappointing to pay over $1,200 for a feature to do not work and no reliable technical update to resolve this matter.  I'll just use my Ipad Air to send music to my Vizio soundbar.  At least that is reliable.  This is not good for the Lenovo brand.

This is clearly an interoperability issue with the Lenovo Power Management software.  I cannot say that I have 100% success yet, as every month the updates from microsoft kill the bluetooth software again.  I do however have the bluetooth stable once I disable the ability of all USB devices to be turned off to conserve power by the operating system.

To do this, open the Device Manager (right click on 8.1 start button) open the USB section and right click on each entry, open power management tab and remove the tick against the "Allow device to be turned off to save power.

Do the same for all of the HID devices and the same for all the Bluetooth devices.  This will be a big help keeping the bluetooth on during ormal operations.

I understand your frustration.  Best thing that has helped me is turning of the power save feature.  Seems like every time Windows performs an update I lose either some BT or wireless network features and have to either reload old drivers or look for new versions.

Re: Yoga 2 Pro bluetooth disconnecting (now working fine)

I've have a logitech v470 on my Y2P and also have probems with it freezing up intermittently. One odd thing I have noiced is that when it freezes, I just reach up and touch the screen, and it's fine again for a while.

I think there is some conflict with the touchscreen, touchpad, and bluetooth mouse, all being active at the same time.

Poswersaving issues could be the problem. I haven't tried shutting off the touchpad or removing the drivers.

Can't find anything about the V470 having sleep issues, works fine with my other laptops, an old Sony VGN A270P and 2 different brand new ASUS systems.

I will do some troubleshooting on the newest ASUS, since it also has a touch screen and touch pad. Be interesting tio see if the mouse has the same problem.
