Since the last Windows 10 update on 11th Apr 2017, I have had two problems that I assume are related:
1. The fan is constantly on, despite normal CPU usage of around 10-15%
2. I can no longer turn off conservation mode, so that now I cannot charge the battery above 60%. I tried uninstalling the Lenovo Energy Management software, and installing Lenovo Settings, but the conversation mode toggle in the latter also makes no difference.
The sum of both of these problems is that now my battery runs down much faster...
Any help most welcome!

Hi there, Chrisbby –
Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.
I think it is completely normal for your fans to be running all the time like you describe. The fans in my Yoga 2 Pro behave like yours: on all the time but very quiet unless I'm doing something CPU-intensive. The bottom of the laptop is comfortably warm near the vents most of the time but gets a bit hotter as the CPU does more work, again I think this is normal.
Intel and Lenovo made a nice improvement in fan noise and temperature when moving from the original Yoga 13 to the Yoga 2 Pro.
Try to see if you can follow these steps:
1. Please search under “settings” for “energy” and click “Change Battery settings”
2. Then click “change plan settings” and then “change advanced power settings”
3. Then click the tab for “Lenovo energy management” and then “Enable Lenovo energy management”
4. Under Battery the settings from “Optimized Battery Health” as shown below to “Maximum Battery Life”
Also, you could check if the service IMController service is running in your system.
If not, please try to start it.
If yes, you may need to uinstall Lenovo System Interface foundation from control panel.
And re-install it by open Lenovo setting.
Something wrong when Lenovo Setting try to communicate with battery firmware.
Update us how it goes.
Tap that kudos button if I helped

Thanks for your advice. I had a look but the settings options you mention don't exist after searching for "energy". I can access the advanced power settings, however, by going to "Power Options" in the control panel and from there going to "Change plan settings". But under the "advanced power settings" there are no options for Lenovo Energy Management. There is no option I can find for "Maximum Battery Life". I have been using the Lenovo Energy Manager in the system tray (photo attached) to toggle to conservation mode, but this no longer works.
There is no IMcontroller running, and there is no service with that name when I go to "Open Service" within task manager.
The fan is not running normally - it is constantly loud, whereas before it used to come on loudly only when the CPU was in heavy use.

Totally agree with you that after the last update (Windows 10 - 14393.1066) the fan is getting turned on ALL the time.
But Energy Manager still working fine on Yoga 2 Pro (20266).

All problems were resolved by installing the Creators Update of Windows 10. I assume there were some driver incompatibility issues caused by previous Win10 updates.

Energy management is better in Creators Update version definitely.
I'm testing Windows 10 CU (1703) release on Yoga 2 Pro but wating until Current Branch for Business (CBB) to rollout.
(*) But fan is constantly ON (Anniversary Update 14393.1066 or Creators Update 15063.138)
