Yoga 2 Pro has an SSD (256G) - machine type 80AY -- Need an SSD external exclosure. Can't really determine if this is mSata or PCI-E, documentation is inconsistent.
I just want to put this drive in an external enclosure to access the contents. Please help
Any recommendations for such a unit?
Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the Community Forums.
Checking with the hardware manual FRU list here on page 62 shows mSATA SSD's :
SSD, Samsung PM841 128GB mSATA SSD(TLC) part number 16200317
SSD, Toshiba THNSNH128GMCT 128GB mSATA part number 16200350
SSD, Samsung PM841-256GB mSATA SSD part number 16200318
SSD, Toshiba THNSNH256GMCT 256GB mSATA part number 16200351
SSD, Samsung PM841-512GB mSATA SSD 16200355
What I suggest is to check specifically what came with your machine using your serial number here on the parts look up page to get your part number and SSD manufacturer details.
Example SSD, to check which mSATA to USB enclosure adaptor case that is known to work with Samsung PM841-512GB mSATA SSD 16200355.
Hope this help answer your query.

Knowing the drive that you have (checking on parts lookup) would give you more specific details to what you would need. Again as an example with the Samsung PM841-512GB mSATA SSD, you can get the manufacturer manual here.
Reversely, you can ask the resellers of the USB mSata Adapter if they have the Samsung PM841-512GB mSATA SSD known to work with their product too.

I have the same question and as i didn't see a conclusive answer here.... apparently my ssd partnumber is SS MZNTE256HMHP 256G m.2 SSD, 16200610. It's a Yoga 2 13 of which the power unit has broke down, which means replacing the motherboard, as i was told. So, how can i enclose this ssd to be able to connect it to another computer, te retrieve data, through USB eg ?

I upgraded mine Y2P's SSD to Samsung 850 EVO 1TB mSata one year ago.
Then connected Original Y2P's 256GB on this ZTC Sky Board mSATA to USB 3.0 SSD Enclosure Adapter Case.
Everything is running fine.
