Yoga 2 Pro kernel data inpage error

2017-07-10, 23:34 PM

Hello,

My Yoga 2 Pro laptop has been having the following issues lately:

 - Blue screen error and restarting with "Kernel Data Inpage Error";

 - The system frequently freezes;

 - Occasional computer start-up failure (freezes at Lenovo screen).

I have used OneKey recovery to restore the system, but the same problems still occur. I have tried to execute chkdsk, and it did not detect any bad harddisk sectors. The Windows system event log shows the following errors and warnings:

Could someone help me identify what could be the probable causes to this? Thank you in advance!

Hi, Elgenubi    -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

The KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR Blue Screen of Death occurs whenever Windows has trouble reading something kept in the memory properly.

When you have a moment, can you please refer to this bug that was filed regarding a similar issue and let me know if it is relevant to the problem you are seeing?

Update us how it goes.

Hi Shashi,

Thanks for your suggestions!

Are you referring to disabling BIOS system cache? I have tried this, but the same blue screen error appeared again today, this time with "KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (volmgrx.sys)".

I have also executed chkdsk and the memory diagnosis. Checking the event log after both tests, I found neither tests spotted any errors. Can I infer from this that the SSD and the RAM are fine?

Please let me know if you have any insights.

Thanks a lot!

Last resort would be backing up your files and doing a factory reset to isolate if it's an OS issue. If it doesn’t resolve the issue, Kindly contact Lenovo service centres for hardware assistance.
