Just to verify, did you file the actual metal portion of the connector or the rubber/plastic that surrounds the connector? Also can you let us know which cable/connector you used?

Someone mentioned that this monoprice adapter worked for them without modification:

(you can also find it at Monoprice's site).

Completely agree!

This is same one I purcahsed, and I have had no issues.

Here are some pictures of the modification solution, only the plastic should be carefully cut away.

got a new Yoga 2 Pro about two weeks ago and got my micro HDMI to DVI cable from Amazon last Saturday. Mine would randomly lose the display on my 2nd monitor. Looked the micro cable over closely, and saw that the connector was actually molded a little crooked into the plastic. Like everyone else states, using an X-acto knife and a nail file seems to have solved the problem. Thanks guys, glad I found this.

I will be sending mine in to get repaired. It is by no means a cheap ($$) machine for it to have such a major deffect.

I've bought expensive and cheap hdmi cables and have the exact same problem with both. Having to jiggle the cable, cut out extra protection or inserting a piece of something into the output is NOT a solution. It is mearly a band aid to a Lenovo hardware F***k-up
