Yoga 2 Pro not booting up HDD not detected

2014-10-13, 15:10 PM
Can someone help me to resolve this issue? Or guide me how to resolve?

I had bought yoga 2 pro from Malaysia three weeks back. And I had traveled back to India last week. The PC was working fine till yesterday. Yesterday while I was working suddenly the system hangs and I had to hard reset. But after that the system didn't boot up. It shows boot device not found. I have switched it off and tried booting using restore button and opened the bios it shows that HDD not detected.

Similar kind of issue I faced two times before but if I hard boot again it worked fine.

Now the chasing starts. I took this PC to near by Lenovo center. He told you don't have to bring here and gave me the customer support number. I have called and gave the serialnumber and given all necessary information they have asked. Then they told its premium product and premium service line is enabled for me. I was happy hearing that and he asked me to hold for two mins. I was waiting on the line. When he back he told this product not supported in India and I have to call back to Malaysia and gave me the toll free number 1800 22 0116. When I try calling this number It was saying there is no such number.
After that the Lenovo center in charge told me if I pay I they can service my PC here.
After a while I got a call from Lenovo tech support Bangalore saying that my PC is not supported by Lenovo India and if they want to fix it I have to pay for it.
When I buy the product I have checked in the shop they told its under international warranty.
What does it mean international warranty? If Lenovo can fix the PC if I pay. Why can't they fix when my PC is under warranty? It is just a month old PC. Purely hardware failure. No mishandling.
Am on travel in my business trip and am not able to use my PC two days now. Am losing business here. Tech support should help customer to rectify the issue. Not to rob us.
Can someone help me ? Is there anyway I can get this issue fixed in India. I have to travel to cayman islands in another 10 days.
Will my request reache lenovo?

Enter the BIOS (using the small button next to the power button)> turn off secure boot> and try again.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried disabling secure boot. Still the problem remains.

Change the boot order to something different.

I don't think that will work because the 'HDD NOT DETECTED' in bios. System is not recognizing there is a SSD.

It doesn't hurt to try. I too had this problem once before. I fixed it by changing settings in the BIOS and then undoing those changes. I just wish I knew which ones.

Any update no this? I have the same problem on my 6 weeks old yoga 2 pro. Messing around in bios didn't help.

Same issue here.  Nothing I've tried from these boards works.
