Seriously, no legitimate fix for this yet?

Sad day.  I am afraid to exchange mine because what if the new one has some other (worse) problem...Plus the hassle of reinstalling everything.

I didn't have this issue on my first Y2P.  Since this one has this problem along with 6 other issues, it too is going back.  I should have my third Y2P from Lenovo any day now.  If it werent for the gorgeous screen I would have switched laptops by now.  Ugh

Six other issues?!  What were some of those issues?

Bluetooth connectivity, wifi connectivity, extremely laggy performance when in tablet mode, trackpad hardware issue (clicking the trackpad on the second unit requires much more pressure than first unit - at least double the pressure), sad 2 - 2.5hour battery when watching netflix or youtube (regardless of the browser used).  There are other issues but mostly related to windows 8.1.

Wow... Now I'm scared into just keeping mine and continuing to use hibernate instead of sleep (as dumb as that is), since I have no other issues.  My friend has one of these with zero issues, but maybe he was just incredibly lucky.

Hey guys, I found another setting that could be causing the laptop to wake up, and I don't think this one has been found yet.

Go to Device Manager, right click the Wi-Fi card, hit Properties, go to the Advanced tab, and change the Wake on Magic Packet and Wake on Pattern Match to Disabled.

Mine were set to enabled by default.  Unchecking the box in Power Management isn't good enough.

I'm gonna test this and see if it solves the issue.

Re: Yoga 2 Pro wakes up when lid is closed

I've had my Yoga 2 Pro for over a week now and twice it's turned on and flattened the battery (I've also noticed flickering screen when brightness is turned down but that's for another topic.)

However, I've been experimenting and I think I've come up with a reason why it happened for me. It turns out my satchel uses magnetic clasps! I took one of those magnets and hovered it underneath the laptop just beside the volume buttons and was greeted with a solid power light!!

I'm taking a guess but I assume there's a reed switch underneath so when the laptop is transformed to tablet mode it can detect that configuration. I've also noticed that the laptop has to be opened by quite an amount before it will turn on normally so this is why I assume it's tablet mode that's being triggered.

I wonder whether Lenovo can fix this issue therefore by only turning on tablet mode once laptop mode has been detected first??

I now however need to rip the magnets from my back!

Along with this problem I've also noticed it doesn't always go back to sleep correctly - the power light is left solidly lit and if I open the laptop the screen is blank (although things are responsive like the haptic feedback on the tablets windows key.) If I leave it alone it eventually goes to sleep (blinking power light) and I can open it and use it normally. I have no clues about this yet but if it keeps happening I'll hunt for a forum topic or start a new one.
