Good day and welcome to the community.

On my Y2P, the Kindle app is installed from the factory. I've moved Start screen tiles around, so I don't remember where it was originally placed. Sorry.

If you swipe up from the bottom of the screen, do you see the Kindle icon in the first section labeled "Apps by name"? If so, tap it and look at the menu bar at the bottom of the screen. do you have an icon labeled "Find in Start"?

Regards.

Lots of people are complaining about the Windows 8.1 store Kindle app.   Unlike every other version of Kindle out there, it only recognizes ebooks puchased from your Amazon account.   You can not make it recognize any other Kindle books gotten from other sources.   Even the Kindle readers let you load other Kindle format ebooks.

Download the still availble Kindle for Windows 7 reader (not from the Windows Store).   It works just fine.

If you have other books you didn't buy from Kindle, try the Nook app.  It lets you import other books.  Plus its just better than the Kindle app in every way in my opinion.

I didn't  think Nook reads the Kindle formated files - .mobi or .azw.
