Yoga 2 audio hiss

2014-08-19, 5:47 AM

I just got my Lenovo Yoga 2 13.3 non pro and I am noticing a hiss in my earbuds when listening to videos/music. I know laptops tend to have cruddy audio as the components are all crammed together, but I was just hoping that maybe this was a driver issue and is easily fixable. Anyone have any experience with this? I may end up getting a USB DAC to work around this issue...

I have the same issue with the Thinkpad Yoga.  Very loud hiss on headphones when audio is enabled, even if no audio is playing.  Also, audio quality is poor.  My X240 has great audio.  No hiss.  High quality audio.  Audio quality is important to me.  It's so bad on the Yoga, it will need to be fixed or returned.  I'm not a picky audiophile.  But someone who doesn't care about audio quality whatsoever may be able to deal with it.  The hiss doesn't occur with system speakers--just the audio out jack.

I had this problem too.

Fixed it by removing the Realtek drivers and installing the generic one online.

Lost Dobly audio but, I don't care. I found the installation of just the Dobly system if you want.  I just choose not to use it cause it lowers the max output of the audio.

I'll have to try that. Also, could I get a link to the Dolby system please?

Thanks for the tip!
