Yoga 2 pro USB boot option

2014-03-22, 1:09 AM

I have a yoga 2 pro

I am trying to install different operating system on my yoga 2 pro through USB flash drive. After I start computer, I tried pressing F12 (I even tried F2 and Fx), I do not see any USB option. I tried pressing the little button on the right side of computer and I got the menu with 'normal start, BISO setting, BOOT menu, and one key recovery. I did not see any USB on this list. I tried pressing BOOT menu and it has only one option of starting the system and that is the main OS on this computer. It did not show any USB option in BOOT menu either. My USB works perfectly fine in other computer and it also works in YOGA 2 pro after os finishes starting and it is accessed through finder.

All I am looking is a way to get the 'USB option' when I boot up my computer.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks- Manoj.

Here you go.

The USB must be formated into GPT/UEFI and FAT32.

You will lose the OKR system with this method.

Right next to the power button there's a small round button. Click it.

That's the novo button, it'll let you choose between normal setup, boot menu, BIOS, and system recovery options.

Select BIOS and change the boot menu to legacy support (not UEFI).  This should boot from your bootable USB stick or external drive.  It works for me.
