no, mine was not starting anymore, even after completely shutting it down.

I now have another one which is working perfectly fine.

Anyone else figure out what causes this?

Mine started doing this around a week ago and it's happened 3 times now. I will be working and then suddenly it will go to sleep and the keyboard will just flash on and off.  I have to wait a while before it restarts by itself.

Is there any solution to this?  Just a bad batch?  Because I got my first Lenovo today and within hours this was happening.  Hoping it's not something that happens a lot other than in just a "bad" computer where it happens right away, like mine apparently.  But then I see references to black screens and wondering if it isn't a recurring thing across all/most devices?

 

Called tech support and they were going to have me send it in for a motherboard replacement but they also suggested I call sales tomorrow morning which is what I plan on doing since I'd rather have a brand new device given that this one didn't even survive a few hours. :/

well since the same thing happened to me I sent my device back and received a completely new one. I had no problems since then. So my suggestion: send it back, get your money back or order a completely new one...

Mine is four days old and is doing the flashing unresponsive keyboard also. To those folks who got a replacement until is your replacement still working? I've got to decide whether to get my money back and wait for the surface pro 3 or get another one

Hmm. My Y2P is about 5 months( I7 8GB memory 500GB SSD version), mine starts up OK, but it freezes once I log in after I close my lid when coming back from sleep mode. I always have to log off then log in, in order to get back to normal. I run task manager when this is happening, but nothing sticks out.

I got one of these laptops 2 days ago.  Not once has it ever woken from sleep.  Searching the web for a resolution it's clear that there is nothing unusual about this problem with this model laptop.  This is without doubt the worst computer I have ever bought.

Called and got a new one. Some % most just be bad models. Other than this
one (obviously serious) issue works great and the new one works fine.

All,

 

These symptoms are most likely associated with the memory on some early production units with 8GB memory configs.   I would update BIOS and drivers to latest level, if the system will restart.   If the symptoms continue or the system cannot be reset / restarted, then contact service for warranty assistance.
