Hey guys,
I am reading so many bad things about the fan being so noisy. So I am just wondering, how loud is it actually?
How many dB are we actually talking about? Could someone kindly measure it?
I am asking since I am using a very old laptop that constantly goes up to 50 dB. My laptop already is about 4 years old and so it might explain why it keeps staying at 50dB (and that is already considered quiet as it explodes to about 60dB or even more when dying cause of the summer heat). The thing is I don't get annoyed by those 50dB anymore since I am surrounded by it every day and probably used to it by now.
So how loud is the Yoga's fan actually? If it is below 50dB then I don't consider the fan to be an issue that should stop me from buying it.
Thanks! :)
for myself, I'm on my second now and it's loads better than it had been, but the problem with the original was rubbing/frictions issues, more than high pitched sounds. I pulled my phone out and this is what I got with right now. 30db ambient sound in my dinning room...when the system was turned on, I got a bit of a spike , around 50db, but it came back down immediately to 30, and jumped around 30-34db's... Cat jumped off the bed above me, and it went to 55db, but dropped right back down to 30-34....
@turned on netflix, no sound...30-44db....with sound %, 71db(not the fan at this point as it hasn't ramped up at all)....turned on the fan cleaner....between 75-80db...under load with prime95, full heat is 68-71db..... As I type this message, it's staying around 45-50, but only because it's registering my key presses, and fan hasn't ramped up much at all, so for an office environment, this is perfectly acceptable.... Personally, I really don't find anything wrong with the fan currently, and I usually can pickup higher frequencies squeals...I'm not hearing that here....
Cheers!
