Man, even if you keep screaming at him you won't get your answers any faster. Just give the man some time. I am sure he will answer you as soon as he has the answers you are looking for. Gosh...

Re: Yoga 3 14 Fan Noise

Hi,

Please tell us what does exactly the new Bios on the fan?

Does it enable more control on the Fan Speed?

Does it lower the fan speed to decrease the sound?

Is there a way to control the fan speed in bios settings or in the power managment settings?

Thanks

I found that the fans are working less when I use the laptop without the power supply. The whistling sound of the fan disappears when the laptop is on a soft surface - it is the only way to get rid of him :-)
Lenovo does not answer me. Maybe someone stole the money to develop a program that controls the fans.

I'm really looking to buy this laptop but little surprised by lenovo's irresponsible attitude to first release products without testing them completly! and second not taking really care of the customers complains! maybe they don't give any importance to the noise of their yoga laptops?

But is it still noisy even after the bios update? How loud is the whistling sound of the fan? is it really annoying and whistling all the time or just with some peaks and them coming back quiet?

Hello everyone,

fan noise in windows 10 is still the same. besides that w10 works like a charm, i really enjoy the yoga 3 14 with this.

i updatet the bios to the current version but the fan is still running all the time with a high rpm.

is there any way to control the fan by notebookfancontrol or something?

as i´ve seen there is a knowledge base article for the yoga 13 with a modified ec table (https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Edge-Yoga-LaVie-Z-Flex/Yoga-13-Fan-Noise/ta-p/1065093)

is it possible to get such a solutuion for the yoga 3 14?

Hi,

I recieved my yoga 3 14 icore 7 nvidia .. looks really nice but oh! i was amazed by the fan system on it!

I understood that many reviews tested the yoga 3 14 without the Nvidia graphic card but this version in core i7 and the nvidia Gforce have DOUBLE FAN TURNING ALL THE TIME!! and when its cold for few minutes on start up its silent, but if the temperature reach at least 40° the double fan start kicking on, if the temp go to 50° the YOGA 3 14 become an airplane takingoff!! the sound is so AMAZINGLY LOUD!

Ok the laptop cools nice and quickly come back to normal speed but the problem are that they stays always turned ON and never goes back OFF, the high pich sound is still present even little less after the BIOS update (seems like the frequency of the sound changed and became a different one, little less anoying but another lower tone but still anoying! ) and the 2 fans are kicking on so LOUDLY even browsing one tab on Firefox!!!

i think its impossile for me to keep it if i dont find a solution to control the fan speed because honestly i dont think i can work many hours in such a noisy environment, even now i came back my old silent laptop to write this!!

I will try later on bat instead of ac mode to test but really Lenovo can you please give us full control on theses 2 amazingly tuned airplane fans!!

Sadly, I just read this today. Very disappointed about this. Just bought my Yoga 3 - 14 this afternoon. High pitched noise seem to be consistent with the running of the fans. Deliberated really really long before getting this laptop. Extremely annoyed.

Before updating bios: High pitched sound consistent with fan running

After updating bios: Lower pitch and less annoying sound heard. Fans running considerably louder.
