Why would you try to install another model bios, this is risky.
There's a 2015bios for you model, try installing it may help to solve your problem

Link is here, search for bios update:

Hello, Not sure why you marked this post as resolved. I bought Lenovo yoga 900 15 days ago and I have not installed any huge softwares. The fan is always runned at full speed and with nnoying noice. I called customer care and its waste of time and useless. They told me that this laptop comes with two fans and the noice is expected. Hoe stupid this reply could be from a customer care executive. I cant even take this laptop to my workplace because other are getting distrubed with this annoying noise. After spending huge amount of money and you guys expect the customer to ssuffer with this irritating noice?

I have exactly the same problem. I payed lots of money for it. However, I can not even use it in my office because of the continous loud noise. Very disappointed...

Won't the fans operating at a lower RPM just cause progressive overheating and future issues?

Re: Yoga 3 14 Fan Noise

Hi Andy thanks for the update. Has there been any feedback on the success of this BIOS upgrade in regards to fan noise?

I have a few concerns...

Firstly, wouldnt changing the thermal mapping for the unit giving the fan a lower RPM cause a potential risk of overheating? possibly leading to faults further along the line due to the laptop being operated over the ambient temp?

Secondly, I've read that the actual cause of this fault is not the thermal mapping controling the fan but the fan it's self making contact with side of the housing (a hardware design fault). Thus a BIOS update would just be masking the real problem.

Any information or feedback would be hugely appreciated as I have only a few days left to decide whether to return the unit.

Cheers, Jack
