Yoga 3 14 Keyboard not working

My girlfriend owns a Levono Yoga 3 14 and just recently the keyboard has stopped working. We bought it at Best Buy and considering their is a crack in the screen they can't do anything to fix it.

 

I have tried updating the driver for the keyboard, getting every update for Windows 10 updated, and even Factory reset the laptop to see if that would fix the problem. Also, I tried entering safe mode to see if for some magical reason that would at least get the keyboard to work and nothing. Another possiblity that I had thought of was the anti-virsus (AVG) was blocking the connection between the keyboard and the laptop so I removed it and it didn't help at all. This recently happened on my laptop so I figured I'd give it a shot.

 

The keyboard does light up when the laptop is initally turned on but none of the keys work after that. I'm able to connect a external keyboard to the laptop and use it that way but actually using the keyboard on the laptop I have had no success.

 

If anybody has had any problems light like this and has came up with a solution, please let me know.

Welcome to the forums Ser4!

 

I updated Lenovo Transition software but problem was still there. I stopped "ymc" service from Control Panel->Loca Services and keyboard was back to work! Remeber need to set "ymc" service Startup type to disabled so that the keyboard will continue to work after reboot.

Hi

I think I had the same problem, just for confirming, when you're in the BIOS it doesn't work either?

 

I sent my laptop back 2 times to lenovo before finding a solution myself. The first time they did a reset/update of the BIOS. But only 3 weeks after receiving it back, the keyboard stopped working again, we send it back again and they replaced the whole keyboard... I had my computer for one week and the keyboard stopped working again.

 

Before sending it again or asking for a new one, I checked all the drivers (as you did) and I found that they released a new BIOS update (for keyboard trouble apparently)
