Maybe worth noting that Dell Inspiron 13 7000 owners started reporting a similar problem late last year.  I wonder if it's related to the Lenovo issue.

Yoga 3 touch screen function , cursor move by itself

2015-05-29, 16:29 PM

I just had my Yoga 3 laptop like 1 month ago and few weeks later it begins to have some problems with the touch screen functions. It seems like there is another person controlling my laptop and begins to click randomly by its own, opening new files and its motion is really fast. I've tried to restart the laptop and the problem seem to be gone yet it came back a few minutes later. I've tried to disable the HID touch screen from device manager and the problem had stopped. But its pointless to disable the touchscreen function when I specially bought this laptop for this function. I've check for updated drivers for the HID touchscreen and it tells me that it is updated. Please help me to overcome this problem. Thank you very much!

I disabled the touch screen in preparation for my complaints to Lenovo. From the search function on the opening screen, search for "device manager." Click it, and the device manager opens. Go the "Human Interface Devices" and open that. You will see a list of files. Pick "HID-compliant touch screen." Right click it and you will see an option to disable. Select. It will ask if you are sure. Yes, you're sure. Problem solved and you have killed your touch screen for the time being. I have been using the computer all day and it appears to have fixed the problem.

I got on the phone with Lenovo - and they were pretty willing to take back my new computer with the ghost touching problem - and they had me go into the Device Manager and delete all the drivers that run the touch screen (go to Human Interface Devices and uninstall everything that says "HID" or "USB" and shutting off the computer and restarting it magically reinstalls the drivers, apparently). It is working SO FAR.

@ddlaw, thanks for following up, and for providing a bit of hope.  Please let us know next week if things are still going well!
