Yoga 3 Pro 1370 crash

2016-04-16, 17:15 PM

Hello,

I'm in a bit of a pickle, in an attempt to reinstall Windows 8.1 after numerous Windows 10 installation fails, I was successful in that aspect.. However, when I tried to reinstall drivers, especially this one

Intel Serial I/O Driver for Windows 8.1 64-bit - Lenovo YOGA 3 Pro-1370

It froze and I had to force restart the computer. To my terrible luck, the computer doesn't boot anymore. I tried looking at it through Ubuntu live cd and it reads the disk and shows the partitions but I cannot write to them or even clear them.

I inferred that the hard drive was the problem, so I've ordered one but then I'm thinking about it again and maybe it had something to do with that driver flashing something to bios. I don't know where to go from here, none of the recoveries work or anything.

Please advise

If you can get into the BIOS, disable Fast Boot and Secure Boot. These would be the only settings in the BIOS withholding boot from a healthy partition.
