I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND to not change this field. Why? Because you're bypassing a safety check during the flash. If your device loses power during any stage of the flash, your machine is toast.
Let me look and see if there's a flashable file you can install from the UEFI BIOS. Lenovo will not support you if your BIOS upgrade is unsuccessful.

Thanks for all your attempts to troubleshoot.
BIOS fix did not work. Says it's charging but no change in a while.
Prior to downloading the fix, plugged in battery read 100% but it really wasn't. Anytime I'd unplug it would die in a couple of minutes. And, after a normal shut down at night with a read of 100% the battery drains itself with or without the adapter plugged in (I tried both on 2 different nights). It would only start when I plugged it back in. It's the only way to use the unit now.
Here's the battery info. Can't extract the serial # in screen shot mode. Most values are blank.

I think you're going to battle to get a response, mate as they closed this topic saying the BIOS has fixed it. That doesn't seem to be the case, though, does it as several others are saying similar things to you!
Please begin a new topic headed, "Yoga 3 Battery Charging BIOS Fix Does Not Work" & mark it attention "Amy_Lenovo".
(As for me, my battery was discharging to 0 when I replugged-in and then powered off and on (bc I thought the black screen needed power-on Now it has the same non-charge problem as everyone else!)

I did as you suggested, however I'm not hopeful and I think you're right, it is not likely I'll get a reply.
I was told in a private message I should perform a hardware fix on the laptop myself, or call customer service again if I'm not comfortable acting as my own tech support and hardware mechanic. I've posted elsewhere my experience with the phone tech department. They are unaware of the issue and unable to assist. They simply don't know what they're doing.
I'm close to the point where it begins to feel like, given the inability or unwillingness of Lenovo to resolve, that I hand the issue over to my lawyers.
Thanks very much for your reply. I appreciate the help. Truly.

Hi, I bought a new Yoga 3 from amazon (UK) about 6 weeks ago.
The battery was initially only charging up to about 60%. Now it is not charging at all and it only works when its plugged in.
I've tried system recovery to when it was new but this has done nothing.
Could you please recommend my best course of action.?
