Hi, I have a Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro and today, my cursor disappeared and my touchpad is not working. The cursor only appears when I use a USB mouse. I tried looking for a solution online but it doesn't work. I tried Fn + Del and Fn + F6. I also uninstalled and reinstalled Synaptics driver from these links:
It still didn't work. In Control Panel -> Mouse Properties, it seems that the only device appearing is the USB mouse, and in -> Programs and Features, there is no Synaptics Drivers installed (there used to be one). Also, when I tried to run one of the program installed from one of the links above, it said "Synaptics device not found!". Can you help me?

look in the device manager and see if there are any problem devices.

I have the same issue. It works on and off and right now not working. In the device manager there is an error in Human Interface devices: 12C HID Device: A request for the HID descriptor failed. Also the touchpad does not appear under Mice and other pointing devices. It is sad that such an expensive laptop is having these issues.

I had the same issue that just started yesterday. After googling the issue along with my exact model (Yoga 3 pro 1370), I was directed to the lenovo website whereby I downloade and installed the driver, restarted and it is working fine again...

My daughter has had the same touchpad/lack of cursor issue periodically.
I uninstalled a driver... [2nd 12C HID Device, no yellow triangle] restarted (several times)... it worked for maybe 24 hours.
Today, nothing again, so I again uninstalled the driver (now with a yellow triangle)... restarted...
all to no effect. She did randomly get about 24 hours of touch pad use, then today it is off.
I uninstalled both 12C HID Device drivers and lost the touchscreen until a restart-- now have touch screen back, but still no touchpad cursor.
Her laptop is, of course, out of warrantee... so what can we do next?

I too had this problem.Cropped up after windows 10 updates,
with Yoga 3 Pro.
Open your control panel and click "devices and printers".
Under devices, your laptop will be listed with a red ? mark.
If you click it, it will say status as driver issue. Driver missing for
12 HID device. It will also suggest trouble shooting. Follow instructions and
Trouble shoot ( go for "search online for updated driver")and the apply settings
... and restart.
Your problem solved!!!! Cheers.

Samram.... sorry it took so long, but I didn't have access to that computer until now.
No... my problem is NOT solved... at all. It apparently is NOT that easy.
The error message reads:
"this device cannot start (code 10)"
"A request for the HID descriptor failed"
uninstalling the driver and restarting has no effect.
updating the driver has no effect -- "device is up to date"
disabling and enabling driver has no effect.
