Re: Yoga 3 Pro lmcfrundll.exe Run Problem, how to fix?

2015-03-17, 23:27 PM

I just restarted again and got the following message:

"There was a problem starting C:\Program Files\Lenovo\Communications Utility\LibStartStub.dll. The specified module could not be found." This is a new error that only started after I got an update today. My computer said, in a small dialog box that popped up, that Lenovo was updating automatically. What can I do to fix this? I'm sure I'm not going to be the only person who experiences this. Thanks.

I wish I could say the same! I don't have Harmony installed and I ran the optimizer and it did not fix the issue. I'm so tired of issues with this computer ... one after the other. Just when I thought I got rid of one issue, another one pops up.

Re: Yoga 3 Pro lmcfrundll.exe Run Problem, how to fix?

2015-03-19, 18:23 PM

I have a Yoga 3 Pro since a couple of weeks and a couple of days ago I started facing the same issue:

At the start-up I get the message: c:\program files\lenovo\communications utility\libstartstub.dll   - specified module could not be found.

I tried to restore to a previous restoring point but unfortunately the 2 previous restoring point failed.

I don’t want to restore to the factory setting and reinstall all the program and the set-up again all the accounts.

I looked at the temporary solution suggested by Amy_Lenovo https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B0Wzd6g3ynHwfmpTQmhxOHBUSGRSN05tejU1cU1hT1hDN3ZEN1MzUlR4LWRO...)

Unfortunately this fixing is valid for the Yoga 3 Pro systems upgraded to Version 2.3.1.30 only, and the "Lenovo Settings Development Package" installed on my PC is the version 2.3.3.33.

Any other solution to suggest? Any news about the final fixing from Lenovo?

I ran that "fix" again and the error message disappeared. Why they issued an update that causes the issue I don't get. I thought they had a fix in test but that was weeks ago and it's been totally silent since then. Hope you can figure out the issue but I suspect you are going to have to wait for an official fix.

Robcanfi,

Did you try "Refresh your PC without affecting your files"?

It did work for me - now I'm using 1.6.25.00 version of Lenovo Dependency Package. No problems so far!

I have no idea what version I had before 2/7/2015, I had no idea that I was not alone...

Good luck!

Hopefuly, we'll hear from Lenovo soon about the FIX!

I bought the Yoga3 a few weeks ago, and have just started installing my programs and files.

The error for the dll file has started just a few days ago.  My machine is slow and hanging.  Is anyone having this issue?

I also run Kaspersky, and in resources this is running the CPU at 96%.  This may explain my slow hanging computer

Running this work around deleted the dependency package. Will it need to be reinstalled?

I Installed the new harmony, but it didn't resolve the lmcfrundll.exe
issue. I'm not surprised because Harmony has nothing to do with that.

I'm sure that a fix will come soon, but in the meantime the lmcfrundll.exe
issue doesn't affect the general running of the Yoga 3 Pro.
