I'm having trouble with the 'screen mirroring' option. I have a Samsung 75" smart TV.
Basically, I try to select the "screen mirroring" option on the TV, I swipe right on my Yoga, then select devices, project. The TV shows up as potential devices to connect, however when I click on it it attempts to connect (both the TV and laptop screens change and it connects for a second), but then disconnect. I then get an "unable to connect" error on my TV.
I've been trying to find solutions online, with no luck. I tried disabling my McAffee firewall but that didn't work. Any suggestions?

So I downloaded and reinstalled Intel WiDi, but now I get an error message when I try to connect that says "Intel Widi Media Share works best in extended mode. Would you like the configuration to be adjusted?" I click "Adjust", and nothing happens.
This is extrememly frustrating seeing as both the laptop and the TV are brand frickin' new.

I got both those, I can try in the evening and post back.
Have you tried selecting Screen mirroring on the TV? What happens?

Just a thought, Have you tried updating the TV software/firmware?
Does screen mirroring work with your smartphone or any other device?

I was able to successfully connect my Yoga 3 pro to samsung TV. It did take me about 3 tries but once it worked, it worked always.
What you need to do -
First, go to the Change PC Settings > PC and Devices > Devices
Now, remove your TV from the list of devices.
Open Intel WiDi Remote.
Click on Connect a screen.
You can search for your TV now.
Maybe you need to select "Allow" when the message appears on the TV.
Then it will start "Loading" and will get connected.
Repeat the process 2-3 times (starting from removing the TV device) if it connects and disconnects or does not connect at all.
Attached below is proof that I was able to connect...
