Yoga 500-14ISK Laptop Red Screen desktop

2017-02-06, 11:58 AM

Whenever I turn on my Yoga 500 the Lenovo logo and the loading wheel both turn red, then the Windows logon screen, and the desktop are both tinted red. Then after a little while it all goes back to normal. This happens every time I turn it on, I have tried updating drivers and it hasnt changed anything.

Someone please help, never seen anything like this.

Hi there, Rhoob          –

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

What gpu so you have? Does it happen on external LCD?

The reddish hue could suggests that the internal LCD backlight is about to fail. Red/pink hue on start-up is a dead giveaway for a failing backlight (CCFL). Nothing else gives out this symptom.

Try updating video drivers

Update us how it goes.

Hey @rhoob - I also started seeing this issue right after updating to Windows 10 19H1 (1903) in around April. Personally, I'm hoping that this is a software issue... I have a Yoga 920 with 4K screen. For interest's sake, what version of the OS are you running?

Here's how I solve the issue:

1. Open the Windows Action Center (swipe in from the right-hand-side of the screen, or tap the notifications icon on the bottom right of the task bar)

2. Turn the Bluetooth setting on or off (it doesn't matter which way you switch it)

@ - do you have any further information on this since it was reported back in February?
