Yoga 510-14isk cpu upgrade

Hello all,
.
I've recently bought a 14" yoga (model no: 80S700D7UK).
I'm interested in possibility of upgrading the current i3-6100u CPU to an i5 or i7 but cannot find anything in the maintance manual. Does anyone have an idea if it is possible and what cpu models are compatible to the socket/chipset/cooling potential.

Thank you all,
Vedran

Re: Yoga 510-14isk cpu upgrade

Hi RefurbishedYoga,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Checking with i3-6100u specification here for the supported socket show BGA (ball grid array) or soldered onto the motherboard so it cannot be upgraded.

Similarly, as the hardware manual does not offer steps for CPU removal, page 70-71 item 4 show description of the motherboards with the CPU that it comes with too. So upgrading the CPU would mean changing the entire board instead.

Hope this helps answer your query.

Regards
