Yoga 520-14IKB SSD M2 compatibility

Good morning, I bought a SSD WD Blue 3D NAND SATA SSD for Internal Yoga M.2 2280 Key b+m, 250 GB but I can't get it to the PC

https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B073SBV3XX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Do you think it's a compatibility problem?

If not, what can I do?

Thank you very much

Re: Yoga 520-14IKB SSD M2 compatibility

Hi FrancescoF,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

It is not compatible.

The Yoga 520-14IKB only supports PCIe as shown in its specifications M.2 SSD / PCIe 3.0 similar to this and this  discussion for its m.2 slot. It might be better to return it and get a supported m.2 instead.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Regards

Re: Yoga 520-14IKB SSD M2 compatibility

Can I ask you another question?

Once the correct SSD was intalled, I cloned the system into the new ssd and I set the right start sequence, in this way the PC starts up correctly, the problem is when I turn off the machine.

On reboot the monitor shows "automatic recovery preparation" and I have to go back to the bios to change the boot sequence every time I turn off the pc.

Can you help me to solve this problem?

Thank you in advance

Re: Yoga 520-14IKB SSD M2 compatibility

Hi FrancescoF,

Greetings.

When changing boot sequence, press F10 to save before exit. If it is still the same, recheck BIOS bot order if it was saving it again and remove the older storage and restart. Run checkdsk /r on elevated cmd to attempt repair of the system file.

Update us how it goes.

Regards
